Pastor

Mike Midkiff was called to be the pastor of Faith Baptist Church on Sunday, May 29, 2016. Bro. Mike is the first full-time pastor of the church which began October 2014. He came to Faith BC after serving 13 years as the Director of Public Relations at East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas.

Prior to ETBU, Bro. Mike served six years as the pastor of Friendship Baptist Church in Marshall, Texas. He has also been the pastor of Mount Carmel Baptist Church, Tioga, Texas; Oak Grove Baptist Church, Harleton, Texas; and Grange Hall Baptist Church, Marshall, Texas. Bro Mike served as the Associate Pastor/Minister of Education of Woodland Place Baptist Church in Magnolia, Texas, in the mid 1990’s. The Kilgore, Texas native, has been in the ministry for over 30 years.

He was licensed to the Ministry by Southern Oaks Baptist Church, Tyler, Texas, on October 28, 1990. He was ordained to the Ministry by Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Tioga, Texas on November 29, 1992.

Before entering the Gospel ministry, Bro. Mike spent many years working in the field of broadcast media. His first radio job was while he was in high school at KOCA in Kilgore. He has also worked for three television stations, KTRE, Lufkin, Texas; KBTX, Bryan-College Station, Texas, and KLTV, Tyler, Texas.

He is a graduate of Kilgore High School, Sam Houston State University and earned a Master’s Degree in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Bro. Mike, and his wife of 36 years, Marianne, have three children; daughter Alison Midkiff Cooley is married to Caleb Cooley, son Andrew is married to Kindle Chapman Midkiff, and son Ashton is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. Marianne teaches English at Alba-Golden High School. Mike and Marianne have one grandson, Case Cooley born in November 2022. 

Bro. Mike’s life verse is Nahum 1:7, “The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knows those who trust in Him.”

Jarrod Yeager

Associate Pastor/Worship Leader/Student Minister

Jarrod Yeager was born and raised in Quitman, Texas where he attended church growing up. Jarrod was called to lead music for the youth at Pine Street Baptist Church in Winnsboro, Texas in 2004, where he led for four years. He was then called to serve as music minister at First Baptist Church in Cumby, Texas in 2009, where he served until, he was called to Faith Baptist Church. He first served Faith Baptist in a part-time capacity but was called as the fulltime Associate Pastor-Student Minister/Worship Leader on August 14, 2016.

Jarrod is a graduate of Texas A&M University-Commerce. He was licenesed to the Gospel Ministry by Pine Street Baptist Church on May 2, 2010. In March 2016, Faith Baptist Church ordained him to the work of the Gospel Ministry. The Quitman Chamber of Commerce recognized him as the 2019 Clergy of the Year during their annual banquet.   

Jarrod and his wife, Lindsey, reside in Quitman with their young sons, Luke and Jake.

 

 

Twyla Yeager

Church Secretary

Twyla Yeager is the secretary at Faith Baptist Church. She is married to Tim Yeager and they have two sons and four grandchildren. Her son Jarrod is the Associate Pastor/Worship Leader/Student Minister of Faith Baptist Church. Her husband serves as a deacon of Faith Baptist and teaches youth in Sunday School. 

Twyla is in the office each Monday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until noon.
